This year was the beginning of our new Adult Development programme led by Jon Williams who also leads the Youth Development project with six local schools.

As you may be aware, we began a second micro-farm in a new area of Romania called Reghin. This is developing very nicely after the first adult trip in May started the work on building a barn, shortly followed by the second adult trip 2 weeks later.

It has to be noted that this is not a small simple barn but one that has been designed by Bath based Architects BURO HAPPOLD complete with a 92 page report, on a pro bono basis – so this was a new and exciting challenge for Jon but he was ready to face it.

It took a large group of men to work on the construction and you can see the improvement after both Adult groups had completed their tasks, followed through by St Laurence and Commonweal Schools who also worked on the Shepherds Hut and sunken greenhouse projects.

In September the third adult group and the last for 2018 will be travelling out to continue the construction of the barn followed by Beechen Cliffe and Stonar schools in October.
