“The children don’t have anything for school – My children need pens and paper for school – we need school supplies!” – This was the recurring theme when Chloe Luscombe, Youth Ambassador for People against Poverty visited Romania on a 3 week term during the spring 2017.
So broken by this, knowing that school is free for the children in Romania, but they just don’t have the tools which are not. That’s when Chloe decided it was time to change it.
Through the Educating Eighty initiative, we will prepare, enthuse and motivate our young people for the new school year ahead. Each child under 16, that we are involved with through the Way of Joy project and family partnership programme (including some of the wider communities we work with) will receive a back-to-school bag with school essentials tailored to their age and gender.
There are 80 children aged between 4-16 who will either be returning to, or starting an education for the first time in September. All of them will need essential supplies.
We will be taking he supplies out to Romania with each bag being packed and handed out by Chloe and the team.
Will you be one of the Eighty? If so, for just a ONE-OFF donation of £15.00 Chloe will be set to travel early September to ensure that the bags are delivered in time for their first day of school.
