Medical Centre

This is a project dedicated to helping families having to live in appalling conditions, crowded in derelict accommodation, devoid of sanitation, running water, electricity and heating. These families do not have access to local health care due to financial constraints and lack of formal registration documents. The medical centre provides a daily drop-in clinic run by a fully qualified nurse and an assistant nurse able to call upon the services of an experienced doctor when needed. The project generates employment for two local people and provides medical advice, treatment and health education and promotion. As part of the programme, families and children also benefit from assistance in gaining access to hospital treatment wherever possible. Project sponsorship funds the replenishment of medical supplies and the provision of the two nursing staff and one part-time Doctor.
