Celebrations at our AGM 2015/16

CaptureOn the 13th of October we were delighted to welcome supporters and Business against Poverty members to celebrate our AGM for 2015/16, which was generously sponsored by Mayden. 

Our AGM is a wonderful opportunity to get together with our friends, donors and members and to spend some time focusing on everything that has been achieved in the last year, which thanks to all of you has been quite a lot! Here are just some of the highlights of what we have been abler to for families living in desperate poverty in the last year:

 

  • 21 training courses have been taken by adults, helping them to find employment
  • 4 financial training cases have been taken, teaching how to better manage money
  • 8 marriages have been supported
  • 36 identities have been recovered or created
  • 69 legal cases have been represented
  • 221 children have had their lives changed through sponsorship
  • 34 Birth Certificates have been created
  • 6 Graduations from university
  • 2 funeral costs have been paid for
  • 3 communities now run a Feed a Child Programme]
  • 3 Trustees joined the charity
  • 65,468 hot meals were provided
  • 1728 food parcels were given out
  • 16 adults found full time employment with our support
  • 58 legal documents were provided
  • 3 animal pens were built, glazed and insulated
  • 37 families have been mentored
  • 1 apprentice has been taken on in the UK
