VOLUNTEER STUDENT GOING FOR SILVER

“As part of my Duke of Edinburgh’s Silver Award I had to choose something to do for my volunteering, so I chose to approach People Against Poverty to help with things like admin for 6 months.

My mum has been involved in this charity for many years, first as a formal Trustee and now the charity’s Company Secretary.  I have always admired the work they do for people less fortunate than ourselves. Through the child sponsorship programme that People against Poverty run, our family sponsored a child in the past called Cosmin from Romania.  I was happy that we could help him afford things like textbooks and pens in order to get his education as every child deserves one.

I have been accepted  and I am so happy that I can help out with this incredible charity for a cause that I strongly believe in and hopefully I can gain more knowledge and experience from working with them.”
