Offer July – September 2020
Jerry Walsingham, a Business against Poverty members has put together a promotion to help raise funds for a particular project we have re-activated in India. The India Borehole Project first ran in 2009. The one below was paid for with a legacy from our CEO Val’s mother Joycie.
The Gift of Life
They drill over 200 feet underground to find water. Close your eyes and imagine the impact of fresh water on the health and well-being of the families affected. We perhaps take for granted the simple pleasure of a glass of fresh water to drink. When it’s scarce you treasure it, when it wasn’t available before, its truly transformational. It costs £900 to drill each borehole and Jerry from Honey Legal has put together an offer to help raise the necessary funds.
“Having spent 6-8 weeks at a time at sea on a yacht you very quickly learn the value of fresh water when your water maker breaks down and you don’t have the part needed to fix it! It changed my behaviour back on shore and so I feel a particular affinity with this project.”
Bore of the Month
For all Avalon Pre-Paid Funeral Plans taken out with me in from now until September 30th I will donate £100 to the India Borehole Project. This includes plans taken out by anyone from or referred to me by members of People against Poverty and Business against Poverty. If we can raise funds for three boreholes in that time I will personally fund a fourth.
